People - Steven Ehrlich

Steven began his career as a graduate architect with the Federal Government Department of Construction, having arrived in Darwin just prior to Cyclone Tracy in 1974.

Steven commenced work as a sole practitioner in 1976 and has worked in private practice ever since.

Prior to forming Kapetas Ehrlich Architecture (KEA) in 1990, Steven led design teams working on significant Territory projects that included the Territory and Desert Wildlife Park, the State Square project including the Supreme Court, and Seven Spirit Wilderness. That practice has evolved into MKEA Architects which has built up a significant work portfolio in Defence, Health, Education and Institutional projects.

Steven is directly involved in briefing and concept design of all projects in the office. His strength is his ability to sketch and conceptualise ideas to help take each client on a unique design journey from brief aspirations to built reality.

Steven has lectured at CDU in architectural presentation drawing, and tutored students in design charettes. He has served as an NT councillor for the AIA and is an award dury member for the SA and NT Residential Age
